So much history we never knew!
After moving in to the area, my wife and I wanted to learn more about the location so we stopped in to this museum and was immediately impressed with the depth of knowledge and artifacts displayed throughout the museum. We plan on visiting more often to spend more time on each exhibit. The museum volunteers are wonderfully nice and were happy to share their knowledge with us. If you're in the area, this museum is worth a visit! Town history We love to go to museums with local history and this is the place. It is only open certain days and times, free but well worth it. Great history of this gateway town to the Adirondacks
We stopped in to learn a little more about Warrensburg's history, and we were glad we did. The museum is small, but laid out beautifully, with lots of wonderful old memorabilia. The organization was easy to follow, and if you don't have time to take in the whole museum, it’s easy to pick and choose different topics to concentrate on. While talking to the volunteers, I mentioned that my parents used to own the Warren Inn (which burned down in 1972) and they knew all about it and where to point me to see the pictures of the hotel when it was called the Grand Army Hotel. I told them a story about Jackie Robinson stopping at the Inn when my parents owned it, and my mother getting out an old Jackie Robinson doll that my brother had in the 1950's. They took a picture of him with it and it was in the local newspaper. The volunteers were fascinated by this and asked if we could send them a picture of it, since I knew someone in the family still had the newspaper story from the paper. I doubt that we will ever return, as we are getting up in age now, but my brother is sending them the picture, so who knows, it may be in the museum if you go! It was a great intimate experience for us to be connected to the place where my parents had lived 54 years ago.

Anyone who has not seen this great addition to town should do so, the place is amazing and outstanding. Worth every minute of your time, it is a great chance to reminisce. Seniors it is worth helping out. If I was closer I would be there in a heartbeat.
